Support a maker and warm up your hook collection with a hand-turned, ergonomic wooden hook!

Each hook goes through a meticulous journey that starts in South America and Africa. Once the wood makes it into Julie's husband's hands, it is turned on a lathe, followed by a resin, sand, and polish process that has to be repeated three times.

While many hook makers will create hardwood handles for metal hooks, Knitsbyjewl carefully hand-shapes each hook head from a solid piece of wood.

Julie then tests EACH HOOK for snagging. Any rejects are sent back to her husband’s shop for further polishing.

Knitsbyjewl is the collaboration of our very own customer support ninja, Julie, and her talented, woodworker husband.

The first hand-turned hook design was created when Julie’s husband wanted to help her crochet for longer and avoid all the hand pain. He took to his shop and developed the Ergo hook (by the way... Julie can crochet as long as she wants to, now).
