Why doesn’t the US use standard hook sizes that line up with UK hook sizes? And why use some letters and some numbers? And why don’t any of them match up to the metric sizes?
Well, now the mystery is solved!
No, just kidding—I have no idea.
But I CAN tell you that I’ve been looking for a set of those bigger hooks. Not the huge plastic hooks that look like a toddler toy you can use to crochet with rope. (FYI—you can get up to a size T/30mm!)
I want the regular but harder-to-find bigger hooks.
I’ve got the PERFECT pattern for a super snuggly sweater in the perfect bulky weight yarn. Is it MY fault if my gauge is off? No! Is the whole world plotting against me because a J/6.0mm hook just won’t do?
Yes! The whole world IS plotting against me EXCEPT for the Happily Hooked shop. Because here I can buy the perfect set of three bigger hooks to COMPLETE my expansive crochet hook collection.
Well, except for custom crochet hooks. And wooden hooks, of course.
Anyhoo … These hooks even have squishy grips, so your hand doesn’t get tired while you’re manhandling the yarn. (Manhandling—that’s such a weird word! Disturbing, really.)
And now, Those Bigger Hooks are my necessity. I may even get an extra set for a friend to wo/manhandle because I never see these three sizes in a set. (That’s why I’ve been looking, after all.)
Do not miss out on all of this goodness:
A 3-hook set in 6.5mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm (US K/10.5, 7.0mm, L/11 and UK 3, 2, 0)
Soft but firm, ergonomic grips to extend your crochet time
Metal-based hooks mean extended wear and better value for the price
Tapered heads for smoother crocheting
